Anniversary Celebration Part 2: Some Stops Along the Way

On our way to the resort we made a few stops. Our first stop was a small floating animal refuge with a few typical jungle animals. There was of course a giant anaconda, and I´m becoming more comfortable with holding them.

There was this strange little/big cat. I have no idea what its called. All I know is that his eyes were so menacing.

Then there was a talking parrot.

There was a prehistoric turtle.

And my favorite, a baby sloth.

We also went to visit a tribe. The name of this tribe was the Boras. They welcomed us into their village and performed several dances for us. And their artwork was beautiful. We bought a carved wooden sloth because I said I really wanted to take a sloth home.

So that´s what we did on our way to the resort....and there are still more pictures to come....

Anniversary Celebration Part 1: A Look at the Resort

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at a special resort in the jungle tucked away on the Momon River. It was called the Amazon Jungle Rainforest Lodge. I took so many pictures of the weekend that I´m going to post them here in sections. So this first post is filled with pictures of the resort and its property. Here´s what you see when you first approach by boat.

The resort has a web of bungalows connected by elevated walkways. There were about 20 bungalows in total.

Here is our little bungalow.

Here´s the view from behind our bungalow.

And here´s some more of what can be seen around the resort.

So that´s the property.....but there are more pictures to come....
