Keeping Track of Babs: Part 5
Today was another busy day here in the jungle for Babs. We started off by going to a festival that one of my students invited me to. It was held in a school that has students from the age of 2 all the way to 18. They had tables with different foods from different parts of Peru. It was fun to try all the food and we soon attracted a crowd as everyone wanted us to try their food and take a picture with them.
Later there was a series of dances from different parts of Peru.
I loved them all, but my favorite was the Marinera. It´s always my favorite.
Later my student invited us to a little reception with the other directors and teachers of the school. They prepared a speacial causa for us and gave us Peru ribbons. They were so hospitable to us.
Then later we went to the Belen market. It can be an intimidating place, but she handled it very well. Then we walked around looking at clothing stores. Eventually we sat in the main plaza just to people watch. Then we had a little snack there and went back to the house. I took my mom on a walking tour of my little neighborhood and then I had to go to work. Coco took her on a moto ride around the city and bought her some ice cream. They met up with me a little later and I gave them a tour of my english institute. And then we went to our favorite italian restaurant for a little pizza. Today I think we´ll go to the zoo.....
