Luna Miel

So much has happened in the last few months and I plan to fill you in on everything one piece at a time. So in no particular order I´m going to blog about all that stuff, so here we go.

Let´s start with the honeymoon. After we bought our plane tickets to California we thought we weren´t going to be able to have a honeymoon. But my mother and fabulous travel agent encouraged us to start a honeymoon registry and with the generousity of our family and friends we ended up having an amazing honeymoon. Originally we planned to road trip around California because it seemed like the most economical idea. But in the end our fabulous travel agent was able to snag us a great deal on a cruise to Mexico and Catalina Island.

This was Coco´s first cruise and it was amazing to see somebody experience cruising for the first time. I think he was most captivated by all of the food (especially the 24hr pizza bar and all of the ice cream).

Our cruise left from Long Beach where I went to school at CSULB. I never could have imagined as a college student that I would be standing on the cruise ship overlooking the city about to set sail on my honeymoon with my future husband :)

Our first stop was Catalina Island.

I had been there several times before. Once I even had the chance to enjoy it from a local´s perspective when my friend Chrissy (a native Avalon girl) invited me to see her home on the Island. It´s still beautiful everytime I visit, and the day we were there for our honeymoon was no exception.

We walked alot.

We stopped in a coffee shop.

We made our way to the old casino, which is now a beautiful movie theatre.

We went to Descanso Beach.

Then Chrissy´s dad generously offered his golf cart to us to take a little driving tour of the town. We were super grateful for his offer, and took him up on it. We went to Wrigley Botanical Gardens.

Then we drove around the back side of town and found a great view.

The next day we woke up in Ensenada, Mexico. I have also been here before but I have never seen the city and the country side look so nice. It felt as though it were still spring there and everything was in full bloom. We took a drive out to the Bufadora.

The Bufadora is a blowhole where the water shoots up from the rocks of the coast and high into the air. I guess there is only a few of them in the world, and I have no idea where the other ones are.

We bought the best Pina Colada we have ever had in our lives and went shopping in the marketplace near the Bufadora. We were offered all kinds of discounts. One discount for being newlyweds, one for being the first sale of the day, and another discount because Coco spoke Spanish. Haha. We also played tricks on them and pretended that he was the gringo and I did all the Spanish talking.

After La Bufadora, we went to a local winery. Yum.

Then we went to the main drag of town and had lots of tacos, chips and salsa, horchata. Delicious.

We had such a great time and we are so happy we had the chance to go. And now we have to go on a diet.
