Keeping Track of Babs: Part 8

Yesterday we went on a tour into the jungle. We hit all the usual stops...the giant lily pad farm with the giant paiche fish, a peki peki boat ride down the river to an amazon lodge for lunch, then a ride in a canoe to visit the Yaguar tribe, and then a visit out to monkey island. And we were lucky enough to see Coco flying his plane out to the city of Pucalpa as we left from the Nanay Port in the morning. Babs had a great time and said ¨oh my gosh¨ many times throughout the day.

Today we have spent most of the day by the pool and running a few errands in the city. Tomorrow we are off to Lima and we most likely won´t be blogging daily, but if we have a chance to post something....we will.

Keeping Track of Babs: Part 7

So two days have passed since our last blog because we´ve been busy busy busy. Well, first we will update you on what happened on Wednesday. We planned to go on a jungle excursion but it was raining like cats and dogs. So we cancelled the tour and while we were having our late morning coffee on the porch Coco texted us and said to come to the airbase immediately. So we went, even without makeup...and we jumped on water plane and he flew us to Nanay Port where he would be picking up passengers. It was spur of the moment but amazing. I´m so glad my mom had the chance to see the the Amazon jungle and river that way.

Later that night we went out to at Al Fria Al Fuego, the famous floating restaurant in the middle of the river. There they have a swimming pool, a two story restaurant, and they serve gourmet Peruvian food. My mom just loved it.

On the next blog entry we´ll post pics from our excursion into the jungle.
