To The End of the Road

We decided to take a little drive yesterday to see how far we could get. Well, went as far as we could before we got hungry. But we ended up stopping at an old restaurant and hotel that really is almost at the very end of the only road that leads outside of the city. We just sat around with friends enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and delicious food. And it felt great to get out.

A New Painting

So not much is happening here except a lot of teaching and flying. Nothing too exciting to report. But I did find a canvas I forgot about and had a lot of painting this. Hopefully I´ll find some more free time to continue painting.

Feliz Año Nuevo

We spent our New Year´s here in Iquitos at an Air Force party. They served us dinner, lots of champagne, and grapes to eat at midnight. There was a brief ceremony where some officers changed their ranks from Lieutenant to Captain or Captain to Major. As is tradition these promoted officers were drenched in champagne. All the decorations were in gold and yellow, which symbolize the new year here. We danced and partied for as long as we could. I hope you all had a great New Year´s.

Last Day at the Preschool

Over two weeks ago I had my last day with my preschoolers. The school year has ended and they are now on their summer break which will last untill about March. We had a little party on our last day. We had a clown, lots of food, music, and cake to celebrate. I´ll miss these sweet kids, Here´s some pictures I took at our celebration.
